Rana Begum, No. 1337 Mesh (2023) sold for $52,400 (GBP39,700), more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on June 25. The powder-coated galvanised steel mesh work has not been traded before.

The sale beat the artist's previous auction record by $11,000, a 26% rise. She is best known for her public commissions.
