Gagosian has announced 'Substitute,' an exhibition featuring new sculptures and photographs by Rachel Whiteread, to be held at its Davies Street gallery in London. The exhibition is scheduled to open on March 26, and will run through May 16, 2026.

The new works continue Whiteread's exploration of themes such as absence, memory, and the relationship between natural and constructed forms. The exhibition will feature a range of media, with sculptures utilizing papier-mâché, silver leaf, copper leaf, resin, and fiberglass, alongside new photographic works.

Some of the small-scale sculptures are casts of objects found by the artist during “mudlarking” beach walks.
