Rabindranath Tagore's Auction Record Jumps 14% With $1.36m Sale

Rabindranath Tagore, Untitled (Head of a Woman) (1939) sold for $1.36m (GBP1.02m), more than three and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on September 29. The Watercolour and coloured inks on paper laid on backing paper work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $170,100, a 14% rise.
