Pieter Claeissens The Elder, A triptych: the Virgin of Sorrows and kneeling donor figures (1564) sold for $457,500 (GBP360,000), more than twice the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on December 4. The oil on oak panel work has been traded 5 times in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $307,500, a 200% rise.
