Pierre Jeanneret, Illuminated Library Table, Model No. PJ-TAT-10-B, designed for the Legislative Assembly and the Punjab University Library, Chandigarh, India (1963) sold for $355,600, more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in New York on June 10. The teak, glass, painted sheet and tube steel work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $54,600, a 18% rise.
