The Fondation Beyeler will open a Pierre Huyghe solo show on May 22, the Paris-based artist's first major exhibition in a Swiss museum.
Among his new works will be an artificial organ, curled underwater, which breathes at a human rhythm, its membrane oscillating.
The artist is best known for incorporate living organisms and machine learning components. For his recent project with LAS Art Foundation at Halle am Berghain in Berlin, he delved into quantum experiments to explore uncertainty and in New York in 2025 he presented a three-tank aquarium artwork, home to various marine organisms, including genetically modified GloFish.
