Pierre Bonnard, Nature morte au melon (1941), sold for $2.95m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 19.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $552,000, realizing a 15% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2007 for $3.5m at Sotheby's.
