Pierre-Auguste Renoir, La promenade à Montmartre (1890), sold for $1.22m (GBP914,400), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 6.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $1.09m, realizing a 47% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1989 for $2.31m at Ader Picard Tajan.

Oil on canvas, 46.5 x 55.0cm. The work has been traded 10 times in the past.
