Philips Wouwerman, Fishermen displaying their catch on a rocky coast sold for $13,900, less than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 20.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $32,600, realizing a 70% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1996 for $46,500 at Christie's.
Oil on panel, 38.3 x 56.8cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
