The focus includes a comprehensive spring arts guide for Philadelphia, highlighting numerous exhibitions and performances across the city, as well as new books exploring the work of various artists.
The spring arts guide features a multi-disciplinary program across Philadelphia institutions. Venues such as Mural Arts Philadelphia, the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, The Print Center, Association for Public Art, People's Light, and the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts are hosting events. Offerings span painting, murals, music, choir, jazz, theatre, and dance, engaging with themes of American history, caretaking, mortality, and personal or systemic struggle.
Among the notable events is Night Side Songs, a featured program. The guide highlights contributions from artists including Carl Cheng, Jerrell Gibbs, Roberto Lugo, The Crossing, Daniel Lazour, Patrick Lazour, Rennie Harris, Peter Boyer, Derrick Hodge, Tia Fuller, and Paul Ramírez Jonas, showcasing a breadth of artistic practice from oratorios and musicals to contemporary photography.
Complementing these events, the Center's newsletter also announces new books on artists such as Carl Cheng, Jerrell Gibbs, and Syd Carpenter.
