Peter Paul Rubens Work Sells for $1.68m to Deliver a 5% Annualized Return

Peter Paul Rubens, Abduction of Dejanira by Nessus sold for $1.68m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 21.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $1.26m, equivalent to an annualized return of 5%. It last sold at auction in 2000 for $425,000 at Sotheby's.
