Paulina Olowska's figurative paintings featuring well-dressed, self-possessed women are in demand among collectors, reflected in the recent surge in her HENI Score, which has risen 114% over the past three months.

An artist’s HENI Score is based on their exhibitions, recent sales and media attention. You can follow Olowska’s unique sentiment index and find out more about the artist via their HENI News Dashboard.

Paulina Olowska, who was born in 1976, often draws on Western advertising imagery and fashion photography combined with references to Eastern European folklore in her paintings and works in other media.

This impressive performance can be attributed to Olowska’s critically acclaimed exhibitions in Turin, London and Mexico City, plus a strong auction sale, although most of her works are purchased by collectors on the primary market via her galleries.

Market watch

Recently, Olowska's painting L'introvertie (2012) achieved her highest sale in the past three years, selling for $87,700 at Sotheby's. The artist’s auction sales have totaled $196,600 over the past two years. However, her larger paintings have been offered for more than $200,000 on the primary market in gallery exhibitions and at international art fairs.

Exhibitions

Olowska's international profile was boosted by a high-profile exhibition at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin. "Paulina Olowska’s Seductive Portraits of Women Rethink Eroticism," (2023-24), featured the artist’s pieces alongside other feminist works drawn from the leading private collection.

Coinciding with the Turin show, Pace Gallery presented its first solo show of the artist's work in its London space. In May, 2023, the leading Mexico City-based gallery, Kurimanzutto, presented Olowska’s first solo show in Mexico.

Olowska’s works are included in the touring exhibition “Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction”, which opened at LACMA in 2023, and is due to travel to the National Gallery of Art, [Washington, D.C](https://heni.com/news?geotag=Washington%20DC).
