Paul Klee, Kopf (Head) (1919) sold for $787,400, more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on November 20.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $587,400, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 1991 for $200,000 at Christie's.

Watercolor and chalk priming on gauze on card, 20.6 x 10.8cm. The work has been traded 8 times in the past.
