Paul Delvaux Work Sells for $5.64m to Deliver a 6% Annualized Return

Paul Delvaux, Les belles de nuit (Comédie du soir ou La comédie) (1936) sold for $5.64m (GBP4.4m), more than eight and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $5.09m, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 1988 for $550,000 at Christie's.
