Paul Delvaux Work Sells for $7.92m to Deliver a 5% Annualized Return

Paul Delvaux, La ville endormie (1938) sold for $7.92m (GBP6.17m), more than five times the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $6.67m, equivalent to an annualized return of 5%. It last sold at auction in 1991 for $1.25m at Christie's.
