Paramjit Singh, Near the Woods (1970) sold for $243,200, more than 20 times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on March 26. The Oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $142,700, a 125% rise.
