Pablo Picasso, Tête de femme (1963), sold for $3.22m (GBP2.43m), less than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on June 24.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $2.62m, equivalent to an annualized return of 5%. It last sold at auction in 1995 for $600,000 at Sotheby's.
