Pablo Picasso, Femme et jeune garçon nus (1969) sold for $2.71m, more than two and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on November 19.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $1.2m, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 2010 for $1.51m at Kunsthaus Lempertz.
