On Kawara Work Sells for $543,300 to Deliver a 34% Annualized Return

On Kawara, Dec. 21, 1995 (1995), sold for $543,300 (GBP406,400), more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 7.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $232,300, equivalent to an annualized return of 34%. It last sold at auction in 2024 for $311,000 at Sotheby's.
