The National Portrait Gallery officially unveiled Nieves González's portrait of Lily Allen. This oil painting, titled West End Girl, will now be on public display at the museum for a year.
The work is the cover art for Allen's album of the same title. It features the British singer in a Miu Miu puffer jacket and Valentino boots. The Spanish painter, who is best known for her contemporary take on paintings of the Spanish baroque, told Vanity Fair: "For Lily, the jacket was perfect, both armor and comfort, protection and vulnerability, a garment that exists outside of traditional glamour."
