Nicolas de Stael Work Sells for $994,500 But Delivers a 0% Negative Return

Nicolas de Stael, Composition en noir et blanc (Les pavés) (1951) sold for $994,500 (EUR889,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in Paris on April 10.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $7,666, realizing a 0% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2018 for $1m at Christie's.
