Nicolaas van der Waay, Amsterdam orphan girls going to church (Undated) sold for $276,900 (GBP209,500), more than 17 times the low estimate at Christie's in London on December 3. The oil on canvas work has not been traded before.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $201,300, a 250% rise.
