Nicola Green's "Stars and Stripes"
Nicola Green is the latest artist to team up with HENI Editions, which has launched her new works, Stars and Stripes and Heirloom, a collection of limited-edition silkscreen prints and a tapestry channeling an optimistic spirit of hope for the future.
The works are based on Green’s spray-painted, mixed-media collages, which celebrate how what seems impossible can be achieved when people come together.
She has focused on the clenched fist as a symbol of strength and solidarity, from Nelson Mandela’s historic salute on being released from decades in prison, to anti-fascist and feminist groups throughout the 20th century.
The British artist describes herself as a social historian and a witness, "committed to observing the most important events happening around the world and recording them".
Green's screenprints and the tapestry, which is woven with 24k gold thread, are on display at the HENI Gallery in central London for the duration of the drop, which begins today, May 15, until May 26.
