Nguyen Trung, Elegant Ladies (2000) sold for $113,500 (HKD889,000), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on March 28. The lacquer on panel work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $39,500, a 53% rise.
