The New Museum today detailed its exhibition program for Fall 2026 through Winter 2027, headquartered at 235 Bowery. The forthcoming schedule encompasses solo exhibitions, a commissioned film, and the museum's periodic Triennial, reflecting its focus on contemporary art, identity, and urban interventions.

The program includes a survey of Arthur Jafa, whose practice often engages with Black life in America through film and moving image. Concurrently, Diego Marcon will present a newly commissioned film involving CGI video and sound, exploring cinematic archetypes. A historical tracing of the Bowery, featuring the work of photographer Weegee, will also be presented, addressing themes of urban life and photography.

The New Museum Triennial, a key platform for emerging contemporary art, is scheduled for Fall 2026. This iteration will explore a range of topics including identity, gender, and sexuality across various mediums such as installation, painting, and sculpture. The overall program involves curatorial contributions from Massimiliano Gioni, Gary Carrion-Murayari, Calvin Wang, Madeline Weisburg, Lisa Phillips, Thalia Stefaniuk, Vivian Crockett, and Isabella Rjeille.

Exhibitions are slated to open in September 2026, with some running through early January 2027 and others into late January 2027. The programming is designed to offer diverse perspectives on contemporary global art practices and historical precedents relevant to its downtown New York context.
