NEW INC, the New Museum's cultural incubator, is set to host DEMO2026, an interdisciplinary festival focused on art, design, and technology. The festival will take place from June 3 to 5 at the New Museum on the Bowery, with associated showcases extending until June 10.
The program is slated to include a range of formats, from exhibitions and performances to workshops and talks. Noted participants include Lawrence Lek, Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Lewis, Devon Turnbull, and Femi Adeyemi, among others from a broad roster of artists and industry professionals. The schedule is expected to address topics such as AI, extended realities, social architecture, and internet-based art, reflecting diverse practices across digital art, sound art, film, and performance.
DEMO2026 aims to provide a platform for new work and discussions at the intersection of creative practice and technological innovation. Collaborations and entities like Rhizome, Serpentine, and Geidai Project are referenced in relation to the participating network. The full schedule and complete list of contributors are anticipated to be released by the end of April.
