National Gallery of Ireland to Present 'William Blake: The Age of Romantic Fantasy'

The National Gallery of Ireland is set to open 'William Blake: The Age of Romantic Fantasy' on April 16, 2026, running until July 19, 2026. This exhibition will feature works by William Blake, presented alongside pieces by contemporaries such as Francis Danby, JMW Turner, George Romney, and Henry Fuseli.

The exhibition focuses on themes of Romantic Fantasy, delving into supernatural, fantasy, and gothic narratives prevalent in British art of the period. It will showcase a range of media, including both paintings and prints, drawing from various collections, notably contributions from the Tate collection.

In addition to the Blake exhibition, the National Gallery of Ireland has announced further programming for late 2026 and early 2027. An exhibition dedicated to Hilma af Klint is scheduled from October 15, 2026, to February 7, 2027, followed by a show focusing on Jan Steen, running from November 21, 2026, to April 25, 2027.
