The National Gallery of Art is introducing a new membership program as part of its upcoming summer schedule. The institution's programming will encompass a range of events, including the return of 'Jazz in the Garden,' new exhibitions, artist talks, and film screenings, aiming to engage its diverse audience of art professionals and enthusiasts.
Among the featured exhibitions is 'Photobooks,' on view now through August 22, 2026. This presentation includes works by artists such as Mitch Epstein and Shelby Lee Adams, exploring themes of the American experience and mining. Additionally, an artist talk by Georgia Heers is scheduled for Friday, June 12, with a lottery for attendance closing on the same day. Lottery results will be announced on Monday, June 15, accessible in the East Building Auditorium.
The Gallery's film series includes screenings in the East Building Auditorium: Robert Wilson's film on Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m.; 'Every Contact Leaves a Trace' on Sunday, June 14, at 11:00 a.m.; and 'Barbara Forever!' focusing on Barbara Hammer's work, also on Sunday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. The popular 'Jazz in the Garden' series will commence on Friday, June 19, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Sculpture Garden. The institution also noted the availability of a new interactive game.
