Venezuelan-born artist Nadia Hernández will present a new installation, "Para verte mejor, en todo tiempo (To see you better, at all times)," at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The exhibition will be on view in the Contemporary Projects Gallery in Naala Badu from Saturday 21 March to Sunday 21 June 2026.
The installation incorporates textile collage, mural, and soundscape elements. Hernández's practice in this exhibition investigates themes of Venezuelan protest songs and cultural continuity, memory, and solidarity. The work draws on media including textiles, painting, sculpture, and sound to engage with her diasporic experience.
Hernández is known for her work exploring Venezuelan cultural and political narratives. Her practice has been exhibited in contexts including the TarraWarra Biennial and she has participated in programs such as the Fountainhead Residency.
