Myron Stout, Apollo (1955) sold for $900,000, more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on November 20. The oil on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $832,000, a 1200% rise.

The previous record was set by Hierophant (Undated), which sold for $68,000 at Christie's on November 13, 1991.
