Video Killed the Radio Star Heads to Mudam

Mudam Luxembourg, the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, presents the exhibiton Video Killed the Radio Star: The 1980s and their Cultural Echoes.

The exhibition, which opens June 12 through October 11, explores the cultural, political, and technological shifts that defined the decade, which saw the rise of MTV, new technologies, and the end of the Cold War.

The exhibition also looks at postmodernism, feminist and queer theories, and the aesthetic revolutions of the era.

A range of artists will be featured, working across photography, video, sculpture, painting, digital art, prints, and drawings.

Works on show range from Bernd and Hilla Becher's photographs, to pieces by Daniel Buren, Cindy Sherman and Vivienne Westwood, among others.

The exhibition marks the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Mudam, which is housed in an I.M. Pei-designed building.
