Copenhagen's Sorgenfri Torv is set to become a focal point for sound art with the upcoming exhibition and performance program, Nine Days of Green. Scheduled from June 18 to 27, 2026, the initiative will transform the public square and Greens Boghandel into a dynamic sound library and collective listening environment.
Curated by artist Morten Søndergaard, the program delves into themes of public exchange, sonic institutions, and the creation of a living archive. Søndergaard, known for his work in media art and cultural experimentation, will lead a diverse group of artists and contributors in exploring the intersection of poetry, sound, and artistic action.
Nine Days of Green will emphasize collective listening as a central artistic and social practice. The event aims to foster a public space where sound installations and performances encourage shared experiences and new forms of engagement with sonic art, exploring its potential as a 'living archive' within a public square.
