The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MSN), will present Watching the Unseen: The Showcase of South Korean Moving Image. Scheduled from March 27 to 29, 2026, the exhibition will be hosted at MSN’s KINO and Agora spaces, focusing on the historical and contemporary trajectories of South Korean moving image art.

The showcase will feature works from a diverse group of artists, including early practitioners such as PARK Hyunki, LEE Kangso, KWAK Duckjun, KIM Kulim, and KIM Soungui. Contemporary artists like KWON Hyewon, Ikkibawikrr, KIM Ayoung, CHA Jeamin, and Unmake Lab will also be featured, reflecting the genre's evolution from seminal video art to current engagements with digital art, animation, gaming, and virtual reality.

This initiative explores various facets of modern and contemporary art through the lens of moving image, encompassing video art, digital art, and emerging technologies like AI. The program underscores ongoing collaborations between the MMCA and international institutions, with support from entities such as the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Korean Cultural Center in Warsaw.

The three-day exhibition will offer insights into the evolving landscape of South Korean art, particularly its contributions to time-based media, across the designated venues within MSN.
