Max Liebermann Work Sells for $54,300 But Delivers a 26% Negative Return

Max Liebermann, Strollers in the Tiergarten (1925), sold for $54,300 (GBP40,600), more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 6.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $19,500, realizing a 26% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2016 for $73,800 at Christie's.

Pastel on buff paper laid down on card, 30.0 x 23.5cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
