Max Ernst, Barbares marchant vers l'ouest (1935), sold for $170,700 (GBP128,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 5.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $80,800, realizing a 32% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2010 for $251,400 at Christie's.
