Marina Adams's Lady Day (2020) sold for $86,500 (£63,500), more than four times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on June 25. The acrylic on linen work has been traded twice in the past.

Marina Adams (1960) is an American abstract painter known for vibrant biomorphic compositions. She lives and works in New York and Parma, Italy.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $16,700, a 23% rise. Her previous record was set by Pussy Riot (2016), which sold for $69,800 at Sotheby's, Online on February 28, 2025. The work had been traded once in the past.
