Marc Chagall Work Sells for $215,900 to Deliver a 4% Annualized Return

Marc Chagall, Le Banc (1964) sold for $215,900, more than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on November 18.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $145,900, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 2002 for $70,000 at Christie's.

Gouache, watercolor, brush and pen and india ink, ink wash and colored pencils on japan paper, 75.4 x 56.5cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
