Manuel Mathieu will feature prominently at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which opens to the public from 9 May to 22 November 2026. A press and VIP preview is scheduled for 6–8 May. Works by Mathieu and other selected artists will be displayed across key venues in Venice, including the Arsenale and Giardini, as part of the exhibition titled 'In Minor Keys'.

Curated by Koyo Kouoh, the exhibition's thematic framework encompasses historical violence, erasure, and cultural understandings of physicality, nature, and spiritual heritage. Mathieu's artistic practice frequently engages with these subjects, making his inclusion consistent with the curatorial direction.

The artist's contribution will comprise both recent and earlier works, utilizing a diverse array of mediums. These include acrylic, chalk, ink, and tape on canvas, alongside mixed media, paper, oil pastel, and charcoal.
