M.F. Husain Work Sells for $27,900 But Delivers a 50% Negative Return

M.F. Husain, Seeru-Fil-Ard (1981), sold for $27,900, more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on April 1.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $28,300, realizing a 50% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2010 for $56,200 at Sotheby's.
Watercolor and ink on paper, 51.4 x 38.1cm. The work has been traded once in the past.
