Somerset House in London will host a significant exhibition dedicated to the work of Maurits Cornelis Escher, opening on June 5 and running until September 6, 2026. Titled 'M.C. Escher. The Exhibition,' it will present a comprehensive overview of the graphic artist's distinctive oeuvre.
The exhibition will delve into Escher's exploration of visual paradoxes, impossible worlds, and the intricate relationship between art and mathematics. Visitors can expect to see works illustrating his mastery of geometry, optical illusions, tessellations, metamorphoses, perspective, and perception, utilizing mediums such as woodcut and lithograph.
Organized by Arthemisia and Fever, the presentation is supported by the M.C. Escher Foundation and The M.C. Escher Heritage, ensuring an authoritative representation of the artist's legacy.
