Lynne Drexler, Herbert's Garden (1960) sold for $1.45m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 15.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $47,000, realizing a 3% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2022 for $1.5m at Christie's.
Oil on canvas, 161.2 x 217.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
