Lu Van Sin, Bonzesse (Buddhist Nun) (1935) sold for $275,200 (HKD2.14m), more than two and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on March 29. The ink and gouache on silk laid on paper work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $163,100, a 125% rise.

The previous record was set by Les Parasoliers (The Parasol Artisans) (1934), which sold for $112,100 at Christie's on May 26, 2013. The work had not been traded before.
