Lisa Brice's Auction Record Jumps 100% With $6.9m Sale

Lisa Brice, After Embah (2018) sold for $6.87m (GBP5.41m), more than five times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 4. The synthetic tempera, gesso and ink on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $3.7m, a 100% rise.

The previous record was set by No Bare Back, after Embah (2017), which sold for $3.17m at Sotheby's on November 18, 2021. The work had been traded twice in the past.
