Laurits Andersen Ring, I Kornmarken (Walking in a Rye Field) (1905) sold for $69,300, more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 20.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $47,200, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 2006 for $22,100 at Sotheby's.
