Lancelot Ribeiro's Auction Record Jumps 800%

Lancelot Ribeiro, Landscape at Noon (1964) sold for $689,800 (GBP516,000), more than five times the low estimate at Phillips in London on March 7. The oil and polyvinyl acetate on canvas work has not been traded before.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $620,300, a 800% rise.
