L'Appartement Gallery has announced its first off-site group exhibition, titled 'Melting Beauty', slated to open in Antiparos, Greece. Curated by Craig Burnett, the exhibition is scheduled to run from July 30 to August 31, 2026.
The presentation will delve into various interpretations of beauty, engaging with themes such as metamorphosis, materiality, transformation, and memory. The Greek location will provide a contextual backdrop for exploring both contemporary and historical notions of beauty in visual arts.
The exhibition features a roster of sixteen artists, including Agustín Cárdenas, Nigel Cooke, Alekos Fassianos, Sally Gabori, Leiko Ikemura, Amorelle Jacox, Martha Jungwirth, Konstantina Krikzoni, Sean Scully, Arlene Shechet, Yinka Shonibare, Amy Sillman, Joan Snyder, Liliane Tomasko, Kaifan Wang, and Kennedy Yanko. This selection aims to offer a broad dialogue on the exhibition's central theme through diverse visual art practices.
By convening this group in Antiparos, L'Appartement Gallery and Burnett seek to foster a focused exploration of aesthetic principles within a distinct setting, contributing to ongoing discourse within contemporary art.
