Kunsthalle Wien will present 'Lebt und arbeitet in Wien: Contemporary Art from Vienna', an exhibition opening on 1 May 2026 and running until 26 October 2026. The show will be hosted across both Kunsthalle Wien Museumsquartier and Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz venues, showcasing over 130 artworks by 56 artists.

The exhibition will encompass a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, performance, sound, film, video, filmmaking, and ceramics. Artists featured include Hans Schabus, among others. The initiative aims to engage with current political and social discourses, and institutional critique within the Viennese context.

Accompanying the exhibition will be a public program, featuring talks, performances, and other events. A notable public talk is scheduled for 17 April 2026 at 18:00. Key figures involved in the exhibition's development and associated programs include Daniel Baumann, Michelle Cotton, and Monika Georgieva, alongside collaborators such as Bildrecht Wien, Klima Biennale Wien 2026, Stadt Wien Kunst GmbH, Atelierhaus Wien, FOTO ARSENAL WIEN, and KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien.
