Kiran Nadar Museum of Art to Present Nalini Malani at 61st Venice Biennale

The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) has announced its presentation of a significant site-specific commission by artist Nalini Malani, titled Of Woman Born, as a Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. The exhibition is scheduled to open at Magazzini del Sale n. 5, Fondamenta Zattere Ai Saloni, Dorsoduro 262, running from May 9 through November 22, 2026. Pre-opening days are slated for May 6, 7, and 8, 2026.

Malani's installation is anticipated to engage with her established themes, which include women's issues, mythology, global conflict, and a critical examination of patriarchy. The work will incorporate multiple media, notably iPad animation, sound installation, video installation, and drawings, extending her practice in contemporary and feminist art.

The project is spearheaded by the KNMA, with Kiran Nadar serving as Chairperson and Roobina Karode as Director and Chief Curator. Curatorial input is also provided by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. Communication efforts for the exhibition are being managed by Polskin Arts and Bolton & Quinn.
