Kim Lim, RONIN (1963) sold for $122,800 (SGD168,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in Singapore on January 18. The bronze sculpture with wood base work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $88,300, a 250% rise.

Interest in the Chinese British artist, long overshadowed by her husband, William Turnbull, is growing. In 2024, The National Gallery of Singapore organized a major survey show of Lim's minimalist sculpture, which followed a solo show at Hepworth Wakefield in the north of England.
