Kazuo Shiraga, Yagenko (1989), sold for $2.18m (GBP1.64m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $789,900, equivalent to an annualized return of 3%. It last sold at auction in 2014 for $1.39m at Christie's.
